Right so whilst brushing my teeth ive come across my lower left wisdom tooth that has broke through the skin (just one "bulge"? of the tooth). The other side hasn't and both of the upper are still in a position where they are just sitting.

Now there is no pain from it, but im wondering if ive got anything to come and how bad do wisdom teeth get?

Cheers

they range from nothing to report to extreme pain and even death. So keep an eye on them and contact your dentist if any swelling, tenderness etc. Initial pain assisted with corsodyl/hot salty mouthwash and maybe antibiotics.

Mine have been semi-out for a long time. They don't offer any real issue save for when a piece of food gets stuck between the gum and tooth. This has caused major pain in the past and drinking soup for a week.
I have sometimes considered that I should get them 'sorted' but they don't cause me pain for the whole and I heard that complications can come from wisdom tooth removal...I wish I was one of the evolved few who doesn't have thembiggrin

Had my wisdom teeth through a while now, my top left was an extremely painful bugger, that got taken out at the the dentist, the lower left became very painful & dentist told me it had to be taken out at hospital. It goes through stages of being painful for a few days & then fine, haven't had it out, just put up with a bit of pain once every couple of months. No probs with the other two. I found Aspro clear the best to deal with toothache!

I've got all four through, but only one has ever cause me any trouble.

I spoke to the dentist about it, and basically it was food getting trapped below the remaining flap of skin covering the exposed tooth. Supposedly, not so long ago, they would have sliced it off for you....but not seen as the done thing these days.

Touch wood though, I've not had any problems for months and months.

Sounds similar to me. Why don't they cut it off?
