Broken and dislocated shoulder
Discussion
I fell over and knackered my shoulder on Thursday, breaking the top of my arm and dislocating the joint.
I had surgery on Friday to pin the arm together and put the shoulder back in place and am now sitting at home wondering what my outlook is and if anyone has done anything similar.
I'm also feeling a bit in the dark, having only seen a physio for a couple of minutes, as to what I should be doing to aid recovery. Have been told to do pendulum exercises but not sure how often and for what duration.
Any help, experiences and advice would be great.

I've broken a chip off the top of my arm bone, which had several tendons attached.
In order to claim some extra PH points, I gained this injury in a smash on the Mulsanne straight*
I've also dislocated the same shoulder some time afterwards.
If you don't have an appointment soon at the fracture clinic or another with the physio then I'd pay to see one privately.

* the accident on the Mulsanne straight happenned when I fell off a 50cc scooter due to incompetance
It's going to be sore for a while so let the pain guide you, a bit of an ache is fine but don't push it and do the exercises little and often. It's not (yet) no pain no gain but you do want to keep it moving.
I wouldn't expect to see you again for 4 weeks or so post op, but that very much depends on what the consultant wants you doing. When's your follow up appointment?
