Quick and odd question really..

My OH has quite bad toothache and no dentist, we have no money until Friday and she was gonna try and wait, using a combo of Clove Oil and Ibuprofen/Paracetamol, but they are getting less effective each day (It started on Sat)

Does anyone know, if I get her an appointment, whether they will take a cheque and not cash it just yet or if I could leave my card with them? I just want to get her sorted out ASAP

If you get on to your local Dental board, they will get you in to a local dentist as an emergency case, normally same day, even if you are not registered any where. Cost should be £14.50 for it to be sorted aslong as it is nothing too horrific, which they should quote you for then go back for anyway. Even when money is really tight, getting rid of toothache for less than 15 quid is worth it.

Most places won't take cheques these day but you can ask, its also worth asking if you qualify for free dental treatment, depending on any benefits/credits you get.

Or get yourself to a dental hospital. Treatment is free and simple work (extraction or alleviation of pain) should be possible on the same day. Try to get down as early as possible and you should be out before lunch.
