Looking to rent a TENS machine for the wifes' forthcoming labour. Anyone have any recommendations? What sort of features are best etc?

You should be able to rent one from your local hospital.

I hired one, and then never needed the bloody thing, as I never got any contractions.

Mothercare and various pharmacies hire them.
The main feature is that it has an obstetric setting, and therefore not just for use in a sore finger etc.
It will then have a variable basal level and a boost button and that's all you need.

Lois, do you think this would be the same strength as the one you can hire from the hospital?

they are pretty good - only thing is that in the heat of the moment - make sure you wire it up the right way....
