I am hoping someone can give a bit of advice. My 4yr daughter is not particularly well at the moment - she hasn't really got a cold just a bit of a sore throat and is very phlegmy. The phlegm is causing her to be sick which distresses her which in turn makes things worse. Can anyone advise on anything I can do to try and break the phlegm up to prevent this please.
I have to be careful regarding giving her meds as she doesn't react very well to some (hallucinations etc), plus she also has ITP (which is possibly flared up at present).
Thanks.

Medised always works for my kids. It seems to dry up the phleghm as well helping them to sleep.
Its now no longer available for kids under 6 so you'd have to lie to get it. I swear by it for my toddlers when they have a cold.
Alternativly if she wont sit over a bowl of water run a steamy shower and sit in the bathroom with some olbas oil nearby

Thanks for the advice. She still seems fairly ok in herself except for the phlegm. I will give her a bath in a steamy bathroom and see how that works, thanks.
As for the medised I am not sure. I remember using it when she was very little, and it did work at treat at drying her up, but now that she has been diagnosed with ITP I have to be careful what I give her as she shouldn't have aspirin, ibrufen or certain antihistamines. I will ask the pharmacist to see if it would be suitable, as she is shattered and would benefit from a good nights sleep too.
Cheers.
