Hi all

I think i might be a bit of a mental, nah, not really, well, not much anyways, probably better balanced than most people, but a worrier none the less (its actually a confidence/self esteem type issue that i've had forever but figured i should stop being a girl and i think i need to speak to someone/get some advice about). So i figured there must be some free confidental type online thing that means you dont have to talk to a person with your mouth and stuff, 'cos you never actually say what you want to when your face to face.

So, does anyone know anywhere you can get free advice online, google throws up a thousand things but i figured with this being pretty much the biggest forum ever someone may have used a service and might be able to advise me on one?

Please, please don't think you'll achieve anything over the internet except bad advice.

The first person you should speak to is your doctor and he will help you or refer you onto a specialist.

Well, not sure about the doctor thing, but worthwhile researching what's available. Maybe you need counselling or psychotherapy or EFT or hypnotherapy or... Your doctor will probably give you anti-depressants and tell you to pull your socks up.

Is this not just the continuance of an avoidance strategy?

Write down everything you want to address/discuss, and take it with you to a doctor. That's what they are there for.

Don't google CBT from work though. It won't cheer you up.

It has been well documented, and has got NHS and MIND approval (I personally know many people who have used this service and no longer let their problem rule their lives):-

If you have an employer, worth seeing if they provide any support. Many provide services through ICAS.

The internets are good for a lot of stuff - but not in this area.

You really don't want to be convincing yourself you've got a personality disorder, or bipolar for that matter - wrong direction altogether.

Indeed. The OPs already convinced he's nuts. It's a couch and a man saying "And how did that make you feel" he's looking for.
