I awoke this morning and everything hurt, shivered like hell on the way to cabinet to get some flu medicine and currently getting as much fluid in as possible. I'm sure it's H1N1, all the symptoms line up.

Who else is in a bad way today?

I had "something" and got better.

It was not swine-flu, bird-flu, cat-flu or even man-flu. It was that rarest of things that nobody seems content with these days - the common cold.

Started Saturday with a severe pain in stomach, followed by runs (and I didn't...ooops!).
Since then my friend and I have both had temperatures bouncing to both ends of the scale, sweats, freezing and bad headaches. She also has now developed a chest infection which isn't too good with her asthma! frown
Going back to death-bed now!

I had the flu in stages a few weeks ago.

First day, total and utter exhaustion, spent most of the day sleeping.
Second day, still tired but not to the point where I was sleeping constantly, but did have random aches and pains in various joints.
Third day, sore throat and a bit of a cough, tiredness gone, aches and pains gone.
Last day, woke up feeling fine, nothing hurt, I had loads of energy and the mysterious cough had disappeared.

Never had anything quite like that before XD

I do! If I have a cold, I just get on with it but warn people to stay away so they don't get my germs. I don't get "man-flu". I'm not limp-wristed enough. tongue out

had the beginnings of it, but gargled tcp and ate paracetamol for a day or so to drive it off. worked for a week then it hit me full on and took a day off + the weekend to sweat it out. been ok for a few weeks but throat is going again.

both parents have had full on bird flu which hit my dad like a freight train. glad i missed that!

I had something about 10 days ago. Woke up feeling I had been hit by a train. Drained, aches, irritating cough, etc. Stayed that way for a few days, just waiting for the cold and sore throat to kick in, then it mysteriously dissapeared...

Update, went to the doctor today, confirmed H1N1. On Tamiflu now, feel generally terrible. Doc says ten days. Bah.

Without sounding funny, how does he know? I thought a blood test was required.

I'm curious too. I was under the impression that they weren't even testing for "swine flu" any more, but simply prescribing Tamiflu for any flu like symptoms.

You're right, they didn't bother with the blood work. All the symptoms I have match up with H1N1 and there is no seasonal flu around at the moment, so odds are that it's H1N1.

So, not actually "confirmed" then. Just "probably".

Yes, guilty as charged.
