Any Pru Health members on here? Had a letter at the weekend fron them to say that they are no longer "rewarding" you if you are a regular gym user with discount, instead regardless how often you go, all you get is 15% off. What a load of rubbish. Looks like I will be cancelling with them. Any other recommendations, preferably with gym membership thrown in?

I got this as well, Was the only reason i joined pru health as it halved my gym membership and essentially gave me free health insurance!

So rather than £100 a month for 2x gym memberships, i was paying just over £50 a month for 2 x gym and health insurance!

In the last year they have changed it from the vitality based to fixed discount and then back again. Now they are changing it to fixed discounts!

Think this is pretty poor from Pru Health. I am currently paying £44 for "Gold" health and all Nuffield gyms. Insurance on its own for the same level of cover is going to be at least that plus £70 odd for gym membership...that doesn't seem right to me. I think there will probably be a big backlash against this.

I think they lost alot of business last time hence why they changed back to the current scheme.

Unfortunately not. The problem with any offer when it comes to insurance is that the cost of the offer impacts the bottom line of the insurance company, so the money to subsidize new joiners comes out of the pot that should be being used to pay policyholders' claims.

Its an unsustainable business model and one that could be accused of being called a gimmick.
