Metallic tasting tastebuds during chemo
Discussion
TBO a plain balanced diet will be the easist. Simple foods including grains and pulses.
(Perhaps they can take some comfort from the fact that they are not alone in this respect - food often tastes horrible through chemo).
It's important to eat and it's important to make sure that no matter how unplalatble food might be, that they eat sufficient calories and have sufficient protein in their diet. Chemo weakens the immune system and damages cells. You want to give the healthy cells the best chance possible to recover and in the shortest possible time.

Get your relative the Jason Vale juicing book called The Juice Master, turbo-charge your life in 14 days. I have a posted before on here having been diagnosed with advanced Ovarian cancer with a VERY poor prognosis I drank 2 litres of his Green Power Smoothie.
The metallic taste is sadly a well known problem during chemo.
Good luck to your relative.

Luckily he's an ex rugby player and very fit and strong prior to all this, so it's going well so far. Just goes to show how even the fittest can be knocked down by it.
I did some more research today and apparently having mouthwash or an ice lolly prior to meals is good as a way to make food more enjoyable.
