What do you need a running machine for? The good ones are expensive and will still never be as good a running proper.

This may sounds facetious, but I find treadmills soul-crushingly dull. I'd far rather go for a walk/run around the block in the dark, wind and rain than use a treadmill.

The treadmills that my local gym uses are LifeFitness but probably hugely expensive.

Genuine question here, but is there a reason why you can't walk outside?

Would fresh air not be good for health problems rather than just being
stuck inside all the time?

Thats what I meant though, would being outside and getting fresh air not be good for your 'health problems' if thats not the case then fair enough.

Well I'm on the OPs side. I'd much sooner go for an hours jog in front of Top gear. In the dry. Near a good supply of water, and close to the house should I get in difficulty. Than dodging the prozzies/dealers/pimps/kids/rain/hail/snow/cold/cars/bikes etc you get outside.

Personally I've been looking at Electric ones with "digital" incline adjustment (rather than manual 3 steps adjustment). Seems to be a few places on E-Bay flogging recon ones for less than £500.
