Is it broken? Xray says no.
Discussion
About a month or so I came off my push bike, landing on my right side taking a nice chunk of skin off my knee, elbow and shoulder, apart from being a bit stiff for a few weeks everything was fine.
Two weeks ago I started getting pain in my finger just in front of my middle knuckle, this takes the form of stiffness and 'hotness' which will occasionally spread to the rest of my hand. If I make a fist the pain stays the same, if I do the opposite to a fist the pain becomes a good bit worse.
I had it xrayed yesterday and there was no sign of any damage, yet my body is sure as hell saying there is!
The Dr is sending me for physio as she thinks I may of jarred my wrist causing the tendons to 'go wonky' <my words!!>
I am rather doubtful of this as the pain is very local and also I showed no sign of jarring my wrist the time of the accident.
Obviously I'm not expecting a miracle cure on here but I'd be interested to hear of people who thought they had a broken finger but the diagnosis turned out to be something else.

There is a healing process occuring somewhere, could be a small fracture in there, the physio is the right direction to go. Does it increase pain when your finger is fully extended and press against something?
Nope, have just tried pressing forwards with my finger and no pain there. The pain is when it moves side to side or I'm grabbing something, lifting a normal sized plate of food up is pretty painful now to give you an example.

Strange, not going to waffle on as not sure, get to the physio pal.
That's what I'm thinking!Physio is booked for Thursday, will be interesting to see what they say. Doc is convinced it is tendon damage in my wrist which is causing it but IMO it is far to localised for that but hey, I ain't the expert!
