Since May this year I've had a pretty much permanent headache. The only thing that stops it is Ibuprofen or alcohol (cider in my case). I can put up with it most days, but some days by about 8pm it becomes debilitating & I have to take something for it.

My question is, what's going to have the worse loing term health effects, a couple of pints of cider or a couple of pill. My "male reasoning" says that as alcohol is natrally occuring it must be better for you than drugs, right??????

Long term ibuprofen use is linked to heart disease, although this is a very small risk. The alcohol is probably worse for you in the long run.

Alcohol is a drug- i don't mean in a "scary, Poitically Correct- drugs kill" way but in a very real ALcohol is as much as a drug as Cocaine- its just currently a socially acceptable drug (but then so is Ibuprofen).

My worry would be with anything that has caused my 5 months of permanant headaches which will do you far more harm than Ibuprofen or Alcohol!

Presumably its due to the after effects of that horrific ordeal? there must be something to counter the root cause - glasses or something?

Eyesight is 20/20, it's down to the slight misalignment of the eys currently, but much to the surprise of the team at the BRI I've mad an pretty good recovery so far. It's just a case of time now.

Sounds like occasional use for either, avoid taking togeher, and taking on empty stomach for either. Oh and slap on the sun protection too if on 'profen.

But perhaps have a chat with your regular physician rather than us lot eh?
