Off the booze for a month (do a month every year) and thought that I might follow a detox diet as well whilst I'm at it.

Any recomendations or is it just a load of tosh???

It's good if you can do it... I'd rather cut down than cut out...

A month off the pop will do you some good. But, the concept of a detox diet is cobblers- assuming you are actually eating edible food your body is constantly detoxing itself as much as it needs to.

That's a blow

I was hoping that a few weeks of following a fad detox plan would reverse the way I've abused my body over the years.

Apparently Milk Thistle cleans the kidney's, so I'll try that!

Drinking more water will help... flush out the crap. If you fancy a spot of colon cleansing, eat a lot of lentils... safer than sticking a hose up your pooper.

Keep yourself hydrated, sleep well, exercise more, take proactive steps to ease the stress in your life, eat a diet rich in variety and enjoy it!

As for detox and the detox 'industry'. it's a highly potent marketing myth.
