Twitchy eye-lid
Discussion
For about the last week my left eye lid on the inner side has being having a mental and twitching incontrollably. Each attack lasts 30-60 secs and happens about hourly or so.
I'm a bit stressed, but sleeping well, regular amount of caffeine 2-3 teas a day.
Possibly seems to be worst when I'm treating a patient and concentrating hard into a small area.
Mr 968 if you're reading, will it go away? It's making me sad

I had exactly the same thing about 2 months ago; it was ongoing for about 2-3 months in total.
After a bit of googling at the time it appears to be caused by tiredness, stress etc, although I wasn't stressed at the time or thought I was tired I must have been as it has cleared up now (I do have 2 kids under 3!)
ETA: I am not a doctor so may be completely wrong!

I've only just got back haha!
I'm not enjoying my main job at all, sadly. I love my locum practices but they don't have the days free that I need grrr.
I guess I am quite stressed, I never feel that bad but my body seems to do funny things. A week before my finals I had the biggest cold sore and I'd never had one before or since, although I knew I was ready to sit them and pass!
Annoyingly the twitching is stressing me out more, I hope no patients have noticed, they might think I'm about to flip
Thanks for the replies, just having a small wine and then attack my skirting boards (with sandpaper)

You'd be better off having a wk.
Its normally what I'd prescribe but its possible that young Rachel has been doing this rather too much already, thus causing the eye complaint -due to God's disapproval.Alternatively Rachel, you may be having a second set of winks coming through. Most people have their first set of winks during childhood and that's that. But some people have a second set. In some rare cases the individual just keeps shedding their winks.

It'll be gone in the blink of an eye, I reckon.
Seriously, it'll go soon enough. It seems to be a bit like tinnitus - disappears faster if you ignore it and don't fixate on it.

Early night tonight I think.
I had to give a talk at dental school about an ear disorder...
"Titty-ness" oops.
