Got a large tooth out today at the back of my mouth, Bleeding doesn't seem to be going down any. Any tips? these little bits of cotton material the dentist gave me to bite on are a nightmare, they just go mushy after about 2 minutes!

You need to fold the gauze into a hard sausage shape and bite down hard on it continually for 20 minutes without opening yuor mouth.

If this doesn't work, grasp either side of the socket with thumb and index and apply firm squeezing pressure again for 20 minutes or so.

SHould do the trick. If not and it's pissing blood you need to go and see someone.

But not me, I'm squeamish about that sort of thing.

Don't swallow all the blood. It can clot in your stomach and cause you all sorts of problems.

Pressure is the key here.

On friday, I had an fight with a fence post driver, and came second.

That left a 2.5" gash in the top of my head, and leaked claret all over the place. Quick thinking I grabbed a good bundle of papertowel and applied pressing hard. When the paramedic arrived and had a butchers he commented on me doing the right thing - then again I ought to know as I work with them on a daily basis sorting out their radio comms.

Ahh well, 6 staples, a bit of superglue later, it's pretty well sorted now. Ironmongery comes out next monday, and it's already getting on my nerves!

I noticed I had passed quite a bit of blood when I went to the bog this morning. I'm guessing death is imminent. Don't like to trouble the doctor, is it just stress ?

Been there, seen that and squeezed one in real life.

Cannot eat wotsits anymore.

That and diathermy in the hospital. The smell of burning flesh - I've lost 6lbs in the last 2 weeks....I just cannot eat.

Whoever had the idea of lancing that cyst and squeezing it out has given that poor sod a big problem to come. It's going to come back - bigger!

That was quite dramatic wasn't it.

I'll just finish this bar of fruit & nut and have another look.

Did you see the video of the idiot on top of that Indian train who got fried when he touched the power line? That was quite sizzly indeed.

Any way, I wonder if I have POST traumatic stress disorder now?

Thumb on the tongue/palate side, index finger on the cheek side and squeeze firmly.

Don't understand what all the fuss is about, did I miss something? confused

no it won't,

you keep hold of the iron and the fluid, turns your stools black if you swallow enough though.

press on the bleeding area, as has been said before.

Are you joking? I'd call the out of hours service, err, now.
