Hypothetically, if a couple were trying for a baby, leading up to the womans ovulation, would it be better to go at it like rabbits or not have sex for a few days to save up a good "load"?

It basically comes down to little and often or shock dose!!!

IVF clinic tell you to abstain for three days prior to ‘donation’ does that answer your question.

Regular ejaculation clears the 'pipes' of older sperm.
Newer sperm have more energy and move more.

What do you mean it doesn't sound good, the more often you have sex around ovulation the greater the chances of you getting pregnant!

If you are only going to do it the once with a full load, and in fact ovulation doesn't take place until a day or two later you will have missed your chance for another month.

Oh, abstain for 2 then, first thing in the morning is supposed to be a good time (More sperm per load apparently.) Missionary with hips raised helps for deeper penetration and get your mrs to stay in that postion for a while after.

Joking apart, the fertility clinic told us to abstain for about 3-4 days before hand and then bang away like an armed policeman on the tube line.

You really want to be doing it just before ovulation. Sperm will live for a few days while the ovum only have a few hours so you need the little guys there ready and waiting.

I've heard 2 theories of either saving up and then banging away or going for the every other day approach. Main think is that she doesn't get up straight away. Also helpful to put a book under the end of the bed to tilt it!
