Lois,

Hope all is well and you're enjoying the new job? Quick pregnancy question for you...

Amy had to have two steriod injections last week (34+5/6 at the time)and the relevant steriod creams/potions/lotions seemed to have almost completely solved the rash so when she went back to the hospital they gave her a prescription for a different steriod cream and told her to come back in two weeks.

Anyway she is 36 weeks today and has heard (through the grapevine) that they don't like pregnancies to go full term if the mother has had steriod injections? Is this the case?

Cheers,
Phill

No, don't worry.
I think it's a misunderstanding because Amy's steriods were given for a different reason. Steoids are normally given in pregnancy when they think the pregnancy wont get to full term as they help to mature the lungs and blood-brain barrier.
Glad she's feeling better. The new job is going really well so far thanks, apart from having to use public transport to get there until my permit comes through!

Hi Lois,

Thanks for that. Been an up and down couple of weeks. First the "excitment" of Amy having contractions then the sadness of my Nan passing away last Monday.

Looking forward to finally meeting the new arrival when he decides to show his face!
