i had a hernia op about 18 months ago - inguinal mesh replacement. Took me ages to get back walking, let alone exercise. This year (37) i have been turning up the wick - specially the last 6 weeks, missus and i have a target of 1/2 marathon in October. I am upto 5 miles easy and 3 miles fast pace. I have also started doing some circuit classes. However, more recently i have been feeling a stinging around my hernia site after circuits/fast runs. Its not terrible just niggling but does seem to be getting more persistent post hard exercise

i suppose the most obvious answer is "dont do hard circuits/running" but thats abit knee jerk. Wondered what others experiences/thoughts are post hernia?

I've had 2 ops. First was the same as yours, the second was to sort the first op, as the hole in the mesh was a little too big, which allowed some intestine to poke through and become knotted. Incredibly painful IIRC.

The stinging may simply be nerve endings, however I'd keep an ee on it and monitor if it gets worse.
