Every morning that I wake up my Achilles heel feels really tight, gradually as the day progresses it loosens up but when I go out running (only just started again, it was uncomfortable before this) I am finding it really hard to run for the 1st 1/2 mile as it feels so tight.

I have tried stretching it daily but it does not seem to be helping

Any ideas?

Yeah, you mean Achilles tendon.

You could go to Runners World where they will video you running on a treadmill to check if you need running shoes to adjust the way you impact the ground.

If not try an eccentric loading programme, type it in a search engine and it should come up, works in sports rehab side in most cases.
