Hyperthermia - Heat treatment for Cancer

Further to a previous post..........My Father in law has now been offered 'Heat' treatment for his secondary cancer.
The cancerous tumor that was removed by his spine and treated by Radiotherapy has returned and in the MRI scan it showed it was very close to his spine and spinal cord.
The surgeons were not happy with the surgery option due to the closeness to the nervous system so have pushed him through to this Heat treatment.

On searching, it comes up with Hyperthermia as the correct name and sounds like he will be 'microwaved' and the tumor/cells will be targetted by heat.

Anyone had/know about this treatment further??????
