I have just found out that there has been a couple of cases of Swine Flu in the office upstairs.

The look on peoples face when i casually mention it to them is priceless.

Am i right for not really giving a monkeys or are the panicking masses correct?

We've had a one confirmed case and one probable case in the office so far. No-one seems particularly worried.

I think this is something women have dreamt up as direct competition to 'man flu'

It's nothing more than flu, which is pretty bad and you can die from it anyway....

Oink!

That reminds me. someone asked what the symptoms were. Not being one to take any notice to know what the proper symptoms were i just said

"oh you know the usual stuff like digging for truffles and rolling in the mud". Now i guess that this joke has been done 000's of times over the months but she just looked at me and said "oh ok, ill keep that in mind"

Had some people confirmed with it upstairs as well.

Just had to go into their office to use the fax machine...

Am I going to die?

I couldn't give a flying either and I am fairly high risk as well.
What makes you high risk exactly? (notice I didn't resort to Terence and Phillp style insults)

I have always been told diabetics (like myself) are at greater risk of severe illnesses like normal Flu, but never understood why. Not sure if its the same for pig-flu. For all I know I had it last week, felt like cack, headaches, sore throat, runny nose, aches and pains. Mind you, as a parent to a 2 and a 4 yo, I feel like that most days anyway

Mrs Maul says she doesnt want to Canaries in November as she doesnt want to be on a flight with potential carriers - all that recycled air you see. And then she has the nerve to get uppity when I roll my eyes

I use the Tube every day, so i've succumbed to the idea of probably getting it, so I'm rather blase about it now.

I'm not in your office hehe

But coincidently I am upstairs in our building and the office next to mine has suffered a possible case, just yesterday infact.

To say i'm not worried would be a lie, but my main concern if i did get it, would be the welfare of my 3 year old daughter.

Well I've come home with the dreaded flu like symptoms and I fit the criteria for swine flu. I wouldn't worry about it though - man flu is far worse!

Out of 10 of us in the office, one has been off with Swine Flu since last week and now another seems to be coming down with flu.

The thing I dont get is that the person who's off with the Swine Flu seemed to have a chest infection and a chesty cough (no other swine flu symptons). They went to see their doctor who took one look at them and said its Swine Flu, Here's your note to collect your Tamiflu.

My only concern is that my girlfriend is 6.5months pregnant so I could do without getting it.

Tens of thousands have probably had it in the UK already without even knowing, thousands have had it confirmed, and came out fine, some had a rougher time, but came out fine, plenty have had Tamiflu, and have come out fine.

It's really not bad unless you get it bad, have other unknown health conditions and end up getting really bad, and then maybe dying.

I'd imagine you have FAR more chance of just getting a bad infection, run over, electrocuted, or something else, over even having a bad time with swine flu.
