Private consultation fees
Discussion
Mrs B&B decided to consulate a dermatologist privately about a reoccurring spots problem (must be a girl thing). We have used private consultants before and a consultation is usually about £100-£120 for 20 or 30 minutes.
Prescribed some cream which instantly made her face swell up and her skin dry and peel. Ended up in one of the weekend walk-in GP clinics in town for 3 hours on Sunday with her face looking like a large red ballooon. Contacted the consultant who suggests she stops using the cream (which is what the walk-in GP said) and that she goes back to see the consultant tomorrow evening.
Just had the bill for the first examination; £170 for 15 minutes!
I am now wondering if the consultant will want another £170 when we go back because of the reaction to the cream she prescibed. Anybody had any experiencinf of the charging regieme?
