Heart rate recovery time post-workout
Discussion
Can someone tell me roughly what is considered a "good" recovery time for heart rate following a workout? I'm 33 and train twice a week, weights one day and circuits on the other.
Immediately after circuits yesterday, my heart rate was 184. A minute later it was 120, and a minute after that it was 96. Resting rate is 70-ish. My trainer's view was that this is a reasonably good recovery speed, but I've been unable to find anything in t' web to tell me what this actually means, and whether I should be looking to try and improve it, etc. I forgot to ask at the time. D'oh!
Anyway, if any of the gym gurus on here has a view, I'd be interested to hear it. I'm asking more out of curiosity than anything else.
