The "How fast can you row 2000 meters?" thread is interesting, however I like to do 30 minute sessions on my Concept2.

I'm pretty unfit at the moment, 5ft 9 and 75kg and my best so far is 6520m. How does that compare to everyone else?

only done it once when training for a 24hr group record some years ago....think i was around high 8000's. Which sounds about right as 10,000m is a 1.30 split for 500 and 7500 is a 2.00 split - i was probably rowing around 1.45 over that time which would be a 35m 10,000 meter time (i think the fast guys do sub 30 for 10k now?)

I've done 7340, I'm 6'4" but don't mention weight. I understand 7500 is a good benchmark.

at your height a 2m split (7500m) should be quite achieable if you have good technique and PMA. Anyone under 6ft will (IMO) struggle to get there unless they are pretty fit.

Currently im hovering around 6800 - 7000 do it twice a week.

Im 5.9 and just getting back into the gym.

Is this a good time for a new starter?

I’m also doing whilst there a 20 min cycle and 25 min run so if I was just looking at just the rower I’d hope to push for low 7’s?

Quite new to the concept2 (and fitness in general) but use this as my main workout - really enjoy it.

5 foot 11, overweight (89kg) and rather unfit - but that is going to change smile My best is 7100m (a one off) but a normal hard workout for me would be around 6700m.

You're all trying too hard wink

As I'm rowing to burn excess blubber, I keep my heart rate between 125-130 bpm and row between 5800-6100 meters every 30 mins. Is working well too smile

Trust me.....30mins at 150bpm will loose you more weight than 30mins at 130bpm.....no matter what your "zone" chart tells you wink

Just did this...ended up doing 7615m in 30 mins which I was quite pleased with - it's very dull to do though! For the record: I am 31, about 5ft8 and now about 80kg (hopefully still dropping!). I set the resistance at 10 (just because I always do) and was rating at between 27 and 33 strokes per min (just for a bit of variety).

Mine is around the 180-190 mark at the end, after a 1 minute sprint for the finish - so far it hasn't killed me yet! biggrin

Very impressed with some of the distances being mentioned so far - I have a long way to go! My aim is to get to 7000 by the end of the year.

I need longer arms & legs! (5ft 8 and a bit) hehe

Whilst on the subject of concept2's, has anybody else received the monthly mag you're supposed to get once you'd purchased your C2? I've had f-all to date.

Cheers,

Steve

I never managed more than 4000m in 14 minutes before boredom sets in and I wander off to do something more thrilling. Can’t imagine 30minutes on a rowing machine.
