Dark-red/blackish knuckles after doing press-ups?
Discussion
I prefer to do press-ups using my fist as a base as it hurts my wrists if I use flat hands.
In the last few weeks I have noticed the skin on my knuckles has gone really dry and a weird sort of reddish-grey colour, as though they have been bruised.
I am using hand moisturiser to try and clear up the dryness. Has anyone else had this problem and does it just clear up?
Slighty concerned as I am getting married in 4 weeks and I don't want ring photos to look horrible!

Carpet burns or similar?
I'm serious by the way.
Think about it... you are not totally glued to one spot when doing these. The very slight movement on your knuckles is causing friction - hence your sore skin.
As suggested, try buying the handles to prevent this.
ETA - avoid what you are doing, and it should clear up in a week if you use moisturiser.
