Inguinal hernia

Can somone tell me what an Inguinal hernia feels like, I know its groin pain. but is it like the feeling after you have bashed your balls. not the moment right after, but the sort of throb you get 5 mins or so later ?
and if there should be any lumps down there.

mine never felt like balls bashed! Though they did ache after a few beers on a night out (doc found this strange)

I had a inguinal - its was a lump on my stomach wall, pubic area. Cough with your hand on it and you could feel it "pop" out abit. Op was ok, took me weeks to get over it, fooking hurt to walk. Even a 10 days later found it neary impossible to walk the 200m from station to work. 18 months later and i am training for a 1/2 marathon
