A near neighbour has water retention problems, swollen feet etc.
So, to help him out , I took his dog for a long walk today. I couldn't help but notice that his house stunk of ether, it was overpowering.
What does anyone use ether for?

Isn't ether used as a drug on its own?

Thinking of that film, Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas.

Maybe he uses it for pain relief?

The most likely use from here is as a recreational drug:

Must admit, I'm quite surprised...never knew it was a recreational drug.
I think he's proabably using it as pain relief.

Yep, it's a recreational drug.

We had two bags of grass, seventy-five pellets of mescaline, five sheets of high powered blotter acid, a salt shaker half full of cocaine, and a whole galaxy of multi-colored uppers, downers, screamers, laughers... and also a quart of tequila, a quart of rum, a case of beer, a pint of raw ether and two dozen amyls....

...The only thing that worried me was the ether. There is nothing in the world more helpless and irresponsible and depraved than a man in the depths of an ether binge. And I knew we'd get into that rotten stuff pretty soon.

Is also used in the production of freebase, whoever said that was correct. Like someone said, you sure it's ether?

I did Chemistry at school. I'm surprised that others don't know what ether smells like.

Not that we needed all that for the trip, but once you get locked into a serious drug collection, the tendency is to push it as far as you can.

A pint of raw ether ????

Hold on a minute, but is ether not the stuff that you get a hankieful shoved in your face (in the movies) for a second and your unconscious for hours ?

I'm confused. Why are you still alive ? All the other drugs must have been cancelling each other out.
