Best way to clear a cold?
Discussion
I always have a very hot, long sauna. I read once that viruses can't take the heat. Not sure how true it is but I always feel better afterwards, if not a little knackered.
And also use plenty of eucalyptus mixed with the water if using a normal sauna with hot coals. Or put some in a metal dish near the heaters if using as infra red sauna, like I do.

I asked this very question to a Bio Chemist Freind a while back

Vit C has shown a little beneficial effect but high levels also cause neurological damage.
As there is no cure for the cold I'd recommend an OTC version of a cold and flu remedy. Either get some crap like lemsip (I hate these though) or a decongestant and ibuprofen (same thing).
I wouldn't recommend anything else apart from sleep and food.
A hippy I worked with swore by echinachea and hot chilli con carne to cure a cold. She was happy......
I opted to try the chilli's and bought some echinachea tablets, and was much improved in a few days (when it had probably run it's course naturally)As there is no cure for the cold I'd recommend an OTC version of a cold and flu remedy. A clothes peg on your nose for 24Hrs raises the temprature inside your nose, where the cold virus/germ lives, denatures it's enzymes and kills it- no cold.
Has it's down side though....
Not saying your method doesn't work...but you can't 'kill' a virus - they're not alive to start with Has it's down side though....
