Seeing as this is pretty much the gym forum this seemed like the best place to ask:
I'm sure I cant be the only one to experience this but my gym shoes stink. It's got to the point where I'm going to have to chuck them they smell so bad. The galling thing is turned upside down there is almost no wear. It seems washing doesn't kill the potentially weapons grade stench producing bacteria in my shoe. Has anyone got any top tips to prolong shoe life? is there any way to kill the bacteria? I chucked my last shoes due to smell but it only takes a few months to build despite using socks and airing after use.

I use Kiwi fresh force.

I would also say, don't keep your gym shoes in your kit bag leave them out in the light, now it's sunny you can air them on the line.

Maybe change your socks, google some antibacterial socks

Good luck

ps. MandMdirect.com have some asics for £25 if you need a new pair!

Chuck em in a pillow case and then into w/m. Boots do an exellent Foot Refresher spray. They also do (as does Scholl) deodorant sprays for shoes. They make a huge difference to trainer pong. Spray feet before going to gym and even before going to work etc.

If you use them to run in, either outside or on the treadmill, do not wash them in the washing machine!!! otherwise the cushioning hardens up in the sole, rendering any cushioning properties useless!!
