I'm in dier need of finding a (24 hour/Late Night) Dental Surgery either within or the surrounding areas of York or Leeds?

It's not for me, it's for me ma. But after spending 2 hours searching the t'internet, I'm beginning to find this damn search as much distressful as my mother going through with her aching tooth. If anyone knows anything on where to go or can help me with more info regarding this issue, your help would be most appreciated here.

Thank you in advance

Can't help with that but if you don't get help I found the max dose of painkillers and a stiff drink helped me sleep until I could get to a dentist. I feel for yer ma, it's horrendous.

Cheers,

FT.

Thankyou, but unfortunately I've already checked there. The opening times within the site I can only spot locally is during the day and early evenings(08:00/18:00 etc). I can only find London, South East and the Midlands with an opening time of 24 hours.

I would advice her to do this, but unfortunately she's almost up to the daily maximum dosage of her paracetamol . And as for the stiff drink, she can't, the drink would effect her heart tablets.

Thankyou for your input though.

What is the actual problem? Has she cracked a tooth or loosened a tooth or what?

If she can manage it, tell her to soak some tissue or kitchen paper in whiskey and bite down it.

You know you can alternate between paracetamol and ibuprofen.

The Mrs was on:

paramol - 2 hours - ibuprofen - 2 hours - paramol

to get her through one night before a dentist opened.

Does her usual dentist not have an answerphone message with the details of who to contact in an emergency?

Thankyou for you advice.

Unfortunately she did this earlier. The automated message just told her to come in and to make an appointment first thing tomorrow morning.

Thankyou.

Not a problem, the kitchen roll needs to be thick enough so that when she bites into it her teeth don't come together.

If it gets really bad take her to A&E.

You don't have to alternate, they are two very different drugs which don't interact, so can be taken alongside eachother safely.

Yes they can, but both would be begin to wear off after 3 - 3.5 hours leaving you waiting in between doses. Personally I'd rather have dull pain constantly then agony every few hours smile

I think Munter was suggesting that alternating gives you a better spread of analgesics rather than loads at once and a long wait until the next lot.
