On Thursday last week I had two of my wisdom teeth taken out. I'm due all four out but since the left one was partially exposed and at risk of infection, it came out first.

The top one came out with much of a problem since it had grown more or less ok, however my bottom one was impacted and was in the words of the dentist, "bloody hard work to remove".

Nevertheless, it came out in three parts and the dentist stitched up my gum.

However on Saturday I had one of those massive yawns you get every once in a while and I can't describe the pain I felt and promptly there was quite a bit of blood which stopped about half an hour later.

I checked out the mouth and I'm sure the stitched up gum has come away exposing the open area. It doesn't bleed and I had it checked by the dentist this morning but she said it was fine, yet I can feel an odd flap of gum like skin with my tongue and it just looks all wrong when examining it!

She decided to do some ozone treatment to kill any bacteria and sent me on my way for another follow-up on Wednesday.

Am I just paranoid about it and the wound is really fine? Even my missus and mate from work reckons it looks sort of wrong and they can also see that flap of gum.

OK....stitches did tear. Been at the dentist this morning and there is nothing they can do until tomorrow when the surgeon comes in.

Unfortunately this means more anaesthetic and more pain as he'll have to redo my stitches frown

I have had similar work done. Actually, it was exactly the same work. It's weird when they cut into the gum because gum is supposed to be hard and what you're left with is soft and flappy so I would expect if stitches have popped that it would flap about. Interesting sensation feeling soft gum, isn't it! Wouldn't worry about it since you've got an appointment booked.
