Not sure if this is the right place, but none of the other forums sounded right...
I have a fitness question, i am currently on a mission to lose a stone in 2 weeks, when i started i was 15 stone 3 and 5ft 11... I already do a good amount of cycling and weights so not out of shape at all. From my BMI it says i am average but if i lose a stone will be athelete standard... and then hopefully stone and half from 6 pack central !
At the minute i am aiming to eat 1000/1500 calories a day and burn 2000 a day by cycling and weights, my question is if i am trying to do this within 2 weeks should i still have a day of rest from training ? I know muscles need recovery time and this is what i would normally do but seeing as i am on a time scale should i still have a rest day a week or not if i want to lose as much weight as possible ?

Er, no, and it's dangerous, apart from that..carry on.I have a fitness question, i am currently on a mission to lose a stone in 2 weeks, when i started i was 15 stone 3 and 5ft 11... get divorced/separated.................. 1000/1500 in and over 2000 out you will not be able to sustain...... also unrealistic as your average woman burns 2000 and average man 2500 without exercise... cycling will burn at least 750 an hour... and very easy to consume more than 1000/1500 calories a day...

The recommended weight-loss rate is about 2lbs a week.
That's what I was going to say, if you lose it faster than that not only does it harm your body, but it also tends to come back very quickly as well. You seem to think that by eating very little and exercising more, your body will burn more fat than usual. This will indeed work, for a few days. After that your body will start to think it's being starved and will start to go back to storing fat, to keep you alive longer in the future, so you will actually put weight on (that is how it was explained to me when I was losing weight).
It's definitely not healthy, you really should be aiming for "a stone over several months" rather than "a stone in 2 weeks".

1LB of fat is approx 3500 calories. So you need to drop your calorie intake by 1000 calories and up your exercise by another 2000 on top of what you normally do. Chances of burning that extra every day is slight.
Have you thought about eating raw chicken, if you survive you may well lose the weight before 14 days.

What's happening in two weeks that you MUST lose a stone? Or is it simply a target you've set yourself? I managed to lose 2.5 stone between September and December last year, managed to hit my target (healthy) weight of 10st (5ft6") visiting the gym 5/6 times a week, focussing mainly on cardio (x-trainer) with weights added (low weights/high reps). I worked VERY hard through this period and my six-pack only reappeared at the end. Two tips are use a HRM and pack an MP3 with tunes that keep you buzzing throughout the workouts.
I guess what I am hinting at is that you are very likely to fail to achieve your target, and you need to rethink it. If you do manage it let us know how many times you faint!!
Anyhoo. . .Good Luck
EDIT. . .Oh yes, take a rest day, essential. BTW You are risking injury as well! Another reason to rethink the schedule?!?

I'm doing about 2lbs a week (down) just by laying off the booze Sun-Thurs, and cutting portions a little.

Like double porridge, brown toast no butter and marmite... lots and lots of fruit, brown pasta, crackers instead of buscuits... it is easy to reduce calories without out reducing food intake ! so i am not starving my self, just giving my body what it needs in order to store the stuff it needs and then burn the fat...

another for saying 2lbs a week is good to aim for. wear a hoody when you exercise
prepared to be corrected

and, no offence but unless its a typo or my maths is wrong then your BMI is just shy of 30. i.e. just shy of officially obese and at the top end of "overweight"prepared to be corrected

yeah if you take weight and height i am obese, but if you do it correctly, i.e. measure fat i am on the boarder of noraml/athelete i.e. 16% body fat.. tricky69 said:
