...something

I went to see a Surgeon regarding a x-ray and that I need a op on my hip. For the love of god I cannot remember what he called what I had

Hopfully someone can jog my memory.

it starts with Osteo and is a result of you bones growing when younger. about 18 this should stop and mine has not resulting is cauliflower looking growths at the top of my leg/hip area on the x-ray that need to be taken off resulting in me being on crutches for 6 weeks this summer

any help? can't tell my family what it is, the wife was with me and we both forgot what it was called

What links have you read? Any bony growth will include calcium. Osteophytes are excess bony growths around a joint, often because of wear or unusual use.

Ok. Calcification is the process of soft tissue turning bony.

Hi,

has the surgeon said this has resulted in impingement? I had surgery for hip impingement last week so if you need any info give me a shout?

Actually just had a thought that it's probably totally different diagnosis as intead of a round hip joint mine was flat therefore it had torn the cartlidge and worn away the inside of the joint, I suspect the surgery will be the same though.

and I apologise if I don't make sense as I am still on opiates for pain relief.

Liz

my problem is at the young age of 32 i am getting pain in my hip when I move my leg outwards like getting out the car. also I have limited movement moving my leg outwards. so mainly these issues which look like i need the op.

as I said the thing is as apart from the odd pain and movment problems I can walk, sort of run as per normal. just not looking forward to the op or being on cruthes.

but cheers for the offer of a chat and i might take you up on that
