Thanks to mountain biking in the local (somewhat swampy) woods I'm now covered in insect bites. I seem to react quite violently to them and they itch like hell.

Can anyone recommend a good antihistamine cream or any other sort of relief?

Oral antihistamine may also help - piriton or summat?

Either use Anthisan which is an anti-histamine cream or you may find a steroid cream like hydrocortisone better as this will take down the redness/swelling and the itchiness. Plus, as mentioned above, if you have quite a few you might find and antihistamine tablet helps too.

Zirtek tablets. Take two and you'll be fine.

NBNB you will almost certainly be made very very sleepy by any oral antihistamine, you'll need to assume this will be the case until proven otherwise as you may not be safe to drive and so on. Try taking first dose at bedtime, that's when the itching's usually worse anyway.

Cheers guys.

I'll invest in some anthisan for next time round. While the weather is cool-ish I've found another solution too - long sleeved T-shirt when I go riding!

Get a hydro cortisone cream - fine for temporary use and much better itch easer than any anthisan or such like.
