Firstly not that sort of seed, and secondly Mods, feel free to move but damned if I know if it's health, or food - I'd just like more than 5 people to read it biggrin

Are seeds good for you? Specifically the tubs/packets of the things you can get from Health Food stores and Waitrose?

I'm assuming however bad they are for you, they're probably better for you than Cadbury's Chocolate Fingers and assorted biscuits that get picked at throughout the average day?

Yes, but be wary of those with added salt. They are a source of various omega fats and protein plus other nutrients.

Nuts are also worthwhile looking at... again, another source of nutrients. But also avoid ones with added salt such as the pistachios in shells.

use plain seeds in the bread, very nice, or add a spoonful or two into broths / noodles etc

pumpkin, linseed, sesame, shelled hemp, poppy, sunflower

bear in mind that they have a high oil content, but being vegetable oil, it is the good sort

You can grind mixed seeds up and add them to soups and stews! adds a nice nutty taste!
