Folks, I started a new job yesterday and they have put me on the shop floor for a week to get to know the product and how its put together etc etc, which is fine, except I end up being stood up for hours on end and its come as something of a shock to the system. My legs, in particular calves and the underside of my heel are really sore, the carves feel muscular but the heel is like a sore tingly feeling.
Any suggestions as to how I can make the next 3 days a little more bearable?
Regards
Iain

You cant. With any job were your on your feet all day, for the first week or so they will hurt no matter what you do. After that you slowly get use being on your feet, and you wont notice it.
All you can do is get some gel sports soles, to alleviate the pain somewhat. Other than that, nothing. sorry

Sounds like DOMS (delayed onset of muscle soreness). Usually attributed to doing a form of exercise that the body has not been subject to before (or a while at least). Should improve over the nest few days or so. As suggested some extra cushioning/sorothane/gel in the shoes might help.
