So I have been experiencing stomach pains off and on for the last 4 months, and today I finally went to the doctors, to be told it is most likely my Gall Bladder
I have to wait 3 to 4 wks for a scan to confirm, and mean while just take painkillers when needed.
So I am just wondering, has anyone had problems with their gall bladder, and what they did to dull the pain, apart from popping pills. So far all that seems to work for me is rocking back and fore like a numpty, which is'nt very practical for work

Mates wife had this, they had a bit of a think about it then whipped her gall bladder out.
Done by keyhole surgery, but if they have trouble they reserved the option to cut her open.
While she was waiting, she was told to avoid
1. Fatty food
2. Alcohol
3. Spicy Food.
I've been told to avoid nothing, as food does not seem to be making any difference. It seems to be more stress related, which made me wonder if it was actually an ulcer.Done by keyhole surgery, but if they have trouble they reserved the option to cut her open.

Took it out? I thought the problem was gall stones which can be laser'd?Done by keyhole surgery, but if they have trouble they reserved the option to cut her open.

+1 on the three points above, at least until you have a proper diagnosis.Done by keyhole surgery, but if they have trouble they reserved the option to cut her open.

I had acute pancreatits last year caused by a stone blocking my common bile duct, and had my GB whipped out by keyhole. Took me a month or so to be "back to normal".

Seriously tho penny, my mum has had it, quite simple op and a bit of rest afterwards. Don't think you need to avoid anything.

Something sounds dodgy about the whole affair to me.
