On a really packed train, huge fat guy literally taking up two seats, must be at least 30 stone. So, should they pay for 2 seats as they're effectively using 2!?

I often wonder this about clothes, large ones take more fabric, so should they cost more.

I wear petite, so I should pay less by that theory. Please tell the clothes suppliers!

Depends, you pay for your "space" on a train, not for a seat.

Should you pay less if you end up standing rather than sitting?

Should you pay more if the seat next to you is empty and you lie down or put your bag on that seat?

If the chap is 30 stone, he's got serious problems (health wise if nothing else!) and will be dead in half the time of a typical person therefore will be taking NO seat space in a few years biggrin

Yes, it might encourage them to put the cake down.

I always thought this was more pertinent on a plane. Should you pay for the total weight you add to the aircraft rather than just for a seat, weighing each person as well as their bags? I can see the headlines now... hehe

Do pensioners get free rail travel now? The last few trains I've been on have resembled a Saga holiday.

They do on planes in the US, they are called OSP's (over sized persons) and have to pay for two seats, but if the plane is not full, and they have a spare seat next to them, they get the cost of the second seat back.

You have to buy adult sizes and pay VAT

There is some "fat" association in america which campaigns against this called NAFI or something like that. Their website used to be a funny read about tips for fatties to avoid these charges

haha too right, and slim people should get their seats cheaper too :P although i can see it leading to a whole new form of segregation: how long before airlines would start advertising "fat flights?" laugh

Yes, the wholesale cost of an 'XL' T-shirt is 50% more than a 'S'. Retailers 'fix' the prices so smaller people directly subsidise the clothing expenses of larger people! And that is a Fact yes

simple rule. Put less cake in your mouth and people will stop putting you down. Not only do fat people get looked at more thus effecting there self confidence but they tend to smell a bit more then the average joe. This would be the mountains of flesh thats in some cases are unwashable unless they go to a public swimming pool....

make them pay twice, fk'em fat bds.

Do retailers charge below their wholesale price for XL, or do they just mark up small clothes to the level of XL?

I heartily agree. I have a dislike of tubbies that is now bordering on hatred. The next time you see one, puff out your cheeks and waddle a bit. They'll soon get the message and stop shoving pies down their fat faces.
