Super close shave

Hello all

Can anyone recommend a dry shaver that gets very close? So probably foil shaver

I havent wet shaved in probably 15 years as its hassle.

Budget maybe 30 40? No idea here

I used the " rotary " ones with 3 round heads as they were better at getting longer hairs and then followed with a foil shaver. In the end I gave up. Wet shaving is very fast.

It always leaves me with spots and a rash. Underneath all grows swirly so it really irritates.

I do miss the ultra smooth though

I find the Braun Series 3 shaves close enough. Can be used wet too, but I've never bothered.

wet shave is the answer. I've never got on with electric. 56 shave twice a week, look rough(er) the other 5 days. Wet shave feels so clean especially after a good growth of stubble.

I started wet shaving during lockdown and haven't gone back to a shaver (I'd always used Braun ones which were fine but never gave a completely smooth result).

It's just as quick as a dry shave and result is so much better.

Give Harry's a go. I started with their 'Original' and now use the Plus which is excellent.

Use a good quality shaving cream and a badger brush.

Panasonic foil shavers are better than Braun imho.

Wet shave.
Gillette proglide and King of shaves shaving gel. It takes less than 5 mins each morning before work and you dont need to charge it up.

Electric shavers take ages, they don't take all the hair off in one sweep, you have to keep going over the same area as the hairs get cut off bit by bit.

I need to wet shave almost as soon as I get up , hate the feeling of stubble. Like you I get a rash with electric razors but even after a super smooth wet shave it needs doing again after 12 hours , pain in the backside tbh .

Phillips OneBlade works miles better than anything for me. I've tried a very expensive Braun, Philishave, old fashioned safety razor, Gillette Mach 3. It's cheap as well, but you have to replace the heads.

Gillette sensor 3 comfort from Amazon.
I have been shaving for 45 years and tried every combination.
I bought these disposable razors for holiday duty and I am a complete convert now .
You get 4 or 5 shaves from each one .
I find best with proper shaving foam not gell or sensitive etc .

They are the best I have ever found.

Learn to use a good DE razor with proper blades and enjoy the routine. Blades are much cheaper than any other type of razor and the resulting shave is fantastic.

Sadly my beck grows in swirls. It goes to close on certain big and goes red raw and itchy for days

This. I used to dry shave, needed to shave every day with it. Sometimes twice. Then moved to cartridge wet shaving and dropped to every other day.

Then 3 months ago I bought a full 'proper' DE shaving set up. Rockwell 6S, Full suite of Proraso products (Pre & post shave balms, soap, alum block) and a badger hair brush.

A shave now takes at least ten minutes, but I love the theatre and ritual, plus, I now get the cleanest shave I've ever experienced. I also only need to shave twice a week, my skin is better and the stubble that eventually shows is perfectly even.

A decent pre-shave lotion with an electric shaver makes life easier, especially in warm humid weather. I wish they didn't pong so much though.

I’ve used every safety razor available, and Lidl’s own are as good as any, and last well, cheap, too.

I use Nivea sensitive gel.

Balms etc are pointless in my experience.

I actually own this. It does indeed get very close.

However there's half an inch hole in the foil part and it rips my face to pieces so have binned it. No idea how it got there

How does hair grow on your neck? Mine is super swirly so some bits cut great. The rest is so close it irritates
