Has anyone else experienced having a globus? https://leaflets.ekhuft.nhs.uk/globus-sensation/ht...

I believe I have this, my symptoms match and my GP suggested it's what I have as well. I've had a camera down my throat and the specialist saw nothing of concern.

It's very annoying and very distracting. It is inconsistent as well, sometimes better, sometimes worse, occasionally not there.

I've been under a massive amount of stress recently, which has also triggered my anxiety. I need to deal with both of these, but that's a slow burner.

For anyone who has experienced this, how long did you have it for? Did it ever go away? I've had it since the end of February.

Had it about 5yrs ago brought on by anxiety and very high stress levels, freaked me out initially got it checked by my Dr thinking the worse after googling symptoms, did go after about 3 or 4 months just get it occasionally now, mindfulness lots of exercise and managing stress all helped to get rid of it.

Thanks for posting.

I've had a lot of stress and anxiety lately, which probably explains it. I did the same, I was convinced I had cancer despite having no other symptoms.

I've had this for about 9 weeks now and it does feel like it is getting better, which is something.

Are you sure its not GERD or Acid Reflux as this can affect the throat ? I suffer from Acid Reflux and sometime feel that my throat is tight, and sometimes I get anxiety about swallowing food ..

I don't think it is either of them, but I cannot be sure. I have suffered with reflux in the past and I take omeprazole for it, which I also take at night. This isn't an occasional feeling that I have though, it is essentially constantly there.

I've had something very similar for over 10 years - constant clearing of throat, a lump, difficulty swallowing.

I saw a Private ENT specialist a few days ago about my tinnitus - and I thought I'd try a Buy One Get One Free approach.

Turns out that the ENT guy has the same thing! He prescribed carbocisteine 375mg and after 36 hours, it's looking very promising!

It thins the mucus and makes it easier to swallow or bring it up! Instead of being stuck in my throat!

Apparently, likely caused by GERD which has changed the enzymes and created a different biome of mucus! Weird, huh?

Good that it's working for you thumbup I have a follow up on the 18th, and I'll asked about GERD. My lump feeling has been getting better recently, but the having to clear my throat after eating is still there. It's not food getting stuck, just excess saliva.
