Looked into them, but they do seem very much on the pricey side with what is in essence a yearly subscription. Also, they are screen free so not really a watch.
I decided for what it was, £200 a year was too much. I think if you're a serious fitness addict, then you could argue it's a reasonable buy.

As above, they aren't really a 'watch' as there is no screen. Just a fitness monitor. They are a good Apple/Polar/Garmin alternative for anyone working in a sensitive area which doesn't allow smart watches, but if that is not a concern then I'd just go for a fitness watch personally. I know at least a couple of people who wear both, which just seems daft.
The idea is that it’s a distraction free, always on, wearable - rather than a watch.
They’re very good at what they do if you are keen to implement healthy lifestyle changes across your sleep, exercise and nutrition.
I wore mine for 6 months and found that it actually negatively impacted my quality of life. I’d be worried about going to bed on time and not having a glass of wine, rather than enjoying my evening with my partner.
If I woke up and it said my sleep / recovery score was low I’d would affect my mood rather than me basing it on how I actually feel.
I still exercise every day and implement ~90% of what it would suggest, but I’m completely data free now and find myself much happier. I might live 5 years less though!

I had this with Fitbit too a couple of years ago, I found myself walking up and looking at the data and allowing it to influence how I felt on that particular day. They re very good at what they do if you are keen to implement healthy lifestyle changes across your sleep, exercise and nutrition.

I've been using a Whoop for around a year. I've also had Fitbits as mentioned and Apple Watches. If you want a smart watch, then Whoop isn't for you. If you want a fitness tracker, then you can't get any better then a Whoop in my opinion.
