I cannot be the only one
Discussion
Firstly, I feel very lucky, I’ve no complaints about the treatments I had over the years, but unfortunately some have caused a few issues. There must be a few other people who have gone through similar.
Back in the 80’s when I was 15 I had Hodgkins, spleen out, a few enlarged nodes removed, treatment was mantle radiotherapy.
A year later kidneys packed up, six months in hospital trying to get them going, which did work, but weighed 7 stone, couldn’t walk up one step.
Hodgkin’s came back the following year, this time two years of chemo, radiotherapy for just a few weeks after I said I’d had enough of chemo.
A couple of years later thyroid cancer, removed thyroid, had loads of calcium problems for a few years.
A few year later, a 4.8kg sarcoma tumour removed from guts, colon resections etc. Royal Marsden sarcoma clinic looked after me.
A few years later I had my first heart attack, stent fitted, but aortic and mitral valves a bit knackered.
The following year I had breast cancer, bilateral mastectomy.
I’ve had another heart attack pretty much every year since, two last year, ten days apart. Two stents fitted on the first one, blood clot and calcium lump smashed to bits on he second. Troponin 220, 1800, 4100, 11000, now heart muscle damaged.and valves pretty much knackered.
Don’t get me wrong, I feel the luckiest little s
t in the world, but there must be others who have had a similar experience and I’d love to hear from you.
My old ticker is pretty much knackered, no way they can go through the chest as I’ve had too much radiotherapy, I can have a TAVI but at 57 I’m a bit young. I did retire at 55 as I knew my days were numbered.
And to top it all, I have loads of calcium deposits in the aorta, put a clamp on or stuff big tube for a TAVI will break off the calcium deposits, look forward to a stroke.
I can’t be the only one who has had four primary cancers and a load of heart problems, if you have had similar or know someone who has, give me a bit of inspiration as I need the my valves doing and I’m thinking of saying stuff it as I really don’t want to be a burden.

Bloody hell you should be our inspiration, I thought I’ve had it bad with 2 cancers , but 4 .
All I can say is stay positive , you’ve got through all those issues so why not one more .
Everything is crossed for you , and I’ll remember you when I have the odd why me thought
Best of luck .
