Mrs Bee and Me are making 2025 the year of getting fit and healthier. Off to a good start it must be said but as is always the case you end up down the rabbit hole of nutritional information and opinion overload. This has led us to the subject of drinks - not health drinks but drinks that are healthy for you but also taste quite nice. This is more curiosity than need.

Our soft drink of choice is PepsiMax. Nice as it may be, it's riddled with all manner of less than ideal things. Don't drink copious amounts by any means so not a huge problem but what else is there?

From what I've read, alcohol free beers contain a lot of good, natural ingredients but copious amounts of sugar.

Fruit juice is equally nutritious but also sugar laden and some can be highly acidic.

Obviously it's all about balance and moderation but just wondered if anyone has discovered something, other than water, that's tastes nice whilst avoiding all the nasties?

Anything but Pepsi or Coke there’s a reason why they tell you to drink it after open water swimming gulping down horrible bacteria that stuff kills the lot.

Drink whatever you want; just in moderation

Same with food

Keep the exercise up and actually enjoy your life...

Pepsi Max? Yuk! Diet Coke for me.

But are you excluding caffeinated drinks? I like both coffee and tea, but with milk and a bit of artificial sweetener. I don't anything with sugar that isn't a fruit, and when it is a fruit I eat them quite sparingly. A year ago I was told I was borderline pre diabetic, but my last HbA1c test earlier this month after cutting out sugar entirely and most carbs has me at 30, which is right in the middle of the normal range and I've also lost 15Kg to boot. That means no fruit juices at all and I used to love freshly squeezed orange juice with bits. Interested to see what other suggestions there are. Some say a glass of wine a day is healthy but it's just unnecessary carbs as far as I can tell!

I’m currently sat enjoying a cold can of Erdinger.

Isotonic and contains vitamins according to the blurb and markets itself as AF “beer”.

Think they’re pretty good as they’re handed out at the end of the sportives I’ve done and believe they dish them out at the end of other sporting events.

Quite tasty too.

our office fridge is kept stocked with free soft drinks. i have very low will power but luckily most of them are 'sugar free' which i won't drink, i'd rather have a cup of tea with 2 sugars than something with artificial sweetener. .

i make my own 'iced' tea just by chucking some fruity tea bags into a litre bottle of water and infusing overnight.

also sparking water, ice cold, with a dash of yuzu juice. other citrus fruits work but this is my favourite.

before writing off sparkling water try san pellegrino. i don't like perrier, SP just tastes nicer. weird. the local no name branded cans of soda water are also decent.

Sparkling water, slice of lime, a bit of finely grated ginger and a touch of pure Stevia powder (have to buy this online to get it without erythritol) is quite nice.

That's it. Wanted to suggest that but couldn't remember the name. Kept thinking it was 'Kimchi' which is fermented cabbage from memory. Which is not at all nice to drink.

I don't think 'nice' and 'healthy' can coexist. My fave drinks are milk, full-fat Coke, and booze.
Cow's milk is healthy

Water is what your body actually needs and craves.

If you struggle drinking tap water, try sparkling water.

I used to struggle with drinking water. I now drink sparkling water and iced water - really enjoy very cold water! Might be worth a try too.

So basically, we're looking at fizzy water, beer and wine.

Think I'm going to enjoy this healthy living thing! smile

Cheers all. Some good suggestions here.

Sparkling water with ice and lime.

No alcohol at all - nothing good or healthy about it imho

Trip CBD drinks are really nice, they give you a mellow feeling a bit like that first alcoholic drink does, but it’s a sparking soft drink

aqua libra Are nice flavoured waters too, refreshing and sugar free.

Rubro iced teas are nice too, no added sugar or chemicals

I also like a sprite, no where near as many chemicals as Pepsi max and really refreshing

I would also say if you’re struggling with water, drink mineral instead of tap, the difference is incredible

I drink a lot of sparkling mineral water - 3 litres a day easily. Not expensive and much nicer than the tap version.
