Surgeons: At the Edge of Life C5
Discussion
Lasts nights was almost like something out of Aliens. A youngish guy had testicular cancer , the cancer had spread via a main vein to his heart.
The surgeons had to drain all his blood and reduce his body temp to 22c ( I think) then put him on by-pass ,.
They then removed the cancer from the blood vessel and his heart, what was removed from his heart was bizarre just like a bit of sci-fi , then his cancerous testicle was removed , about the size of an avocado.
The operation in itself was life threatening , as was the cancer .
Glad to say he survived the procedure , and the cancer appears to have been removed with success .

Brilliant, pioneers on both sides!
On the one side the surgeons "I/we can fix that, gizza go!" as flippant simplified way of looking at it.
On the other side the patient "Why not, they're going to learn either way". Although the patient is somewhat motivated by possibly not being dead.
