Disability computer mouse

I'm hoping the PH collective will be able to assist as this is beginning to slow me down working and I want to remain employed.

I'm losing the dexterity in my hands to operate a computer mouse, I'm slowly beginning to lose accuracy of hitting where I need to with a mouse and it is becoming literally painful but not physically painful.

I do not need a full on eye tracking type of mouse but when I google it is all it seems to throw up. Has anyone had any experience of an alternative mouse I can use?

The two things I see used the most are vertical mice and trackballs. But it depends what you struggle with specifically.

Some people prefer a tablet (eg huion/wacom) if holding a pen is easier, but depends on what you are doing as would no good for most gaming.

I'm using a mouse purely for Admin work, so spreadsheet, using with SAP which we use in house for accounting and stock.

No gaming or anything remotely exciting

I think it would be well worth looking at the Kensington Orbit range.
As the mouse body itself doesn't move, it's super easy to be very precise in positioning the pointer.
A bonus of not moving is that in practice it actually takes up less desk space than a traditional mouse.

I have arthritic fingers and use a Logitech Marble Mouse, the chief advantage is that it stays put and just the ball moves, something I can manage easily along with the button presses. It's discontinued but there are plenty around.
