I think I've managed to separate my pecs from my sternum, had severe pain and both nipples have shifted a couple of inches to the side.
Other symptoms are severe pain from my right shoulder and especially the shoulder blade, pain when raising my arms and i can feel my pectoral muscles are bunched in my armpits.

Got a doctors appointment tomorrow but wondering if anyone else has had the same injury and what treatment you had.

Cheers.

No nothing like that (best I can do is a torn rotator cuff) but it sounds nasty

They'll likely want an ultrasound - might be better at a walk in centre

How did you manage that? Weights?

Believe it or not I did it when i stretched and yawned at the same time, I have been doing weights for a few months before it happened but nothing excessive.
It didnt hurt that much for the first few hours but the pain woke me up in the night and its been bad since.
If i sneeze it feels like im getting stabbed in the sternum and if i cough it feels like someone is sitting on my chest and stabbing me in the sternum.
Been taking over the counter pain relief (cocodamol 8mg x 2 every 4 hours) which takes the edge off but not by much.

I've seen videos of this happening when weight lifting.

Maybe you're being modest but if you've ripped them from the ribs you'll fking know it, not think you have.

If you have done that you'll need surgery. I know it's late now but I would be heading to urgent care or even A/E

Pain was worse than a broken bone at the time.
I'll see what the doctor says tomorrow morning but if they fob me off I'll go straight down the hospital.

This. If it is what you think then there's bugger all point seeing a GP.

Could well be a bad tear. Expect your chest to turn black with bruising and most probably surgery later. Not sure you'll be hitting bench press PBs any time soon....

I can’t see how that’s possible from a that mechanism.

An unhelpful anecdote but just yesterday I was talking to a colleague about training etc. and he said he'd torn his pec from his shoulder scoring a try in touch rugby. Said it hurt a lot but not completely unbearable, couldn't do much with his arm, bruised to black within a couple of hours and eventually got it operated on.

Any update on this?
Intrigued as it surely can’t be what you think/thought.

Doctor said i need to get checked at hospital, will have to go tomorrow as I'm stuck doing something unavoidable today.
Pain is still the same, got stronger painkillers which are helping for now.
Got a bit of bruising come up on chest and right shoulder blade still hurts and can feel a slight bulge under my right armpit.

Googled Costochondrits and it could be that but will find out tomorrow.

Will report back when i know.

Not seen a video of both pecs tearing at the same time? Seems, er, unlikely, to say the least. And a big tear will go monstrously black and blue over a large area.

Awaiting a scan, been given a load of 30mg cocodamol to keep me going.
Bit pissed off as my doctor said go to a+e (was absolutely rammed) and i spent 5 hours there, got given an ecg and my chest listened to with a stethoscope and they said go see my doctor again which I did.
Pain is still the same and still not sleeping properly.
Can feel a ball of muscle in my right armpit which is very uncomfortable when sitting or lying down and my chest is still a weird shape compared to before and sternum area still feels hot and hurts a lot when touched.
Definitely lost strength in my arms too, even pouring a kettle is very painful.

Oh ffs, how ridiculous. Sorry to hear you're getting bounced around.
Do you have a UTC or walk in centre locally?

Find a private walk in centre, it must be worth paying for it by now. A few years ago I had a lat problem, got scan and diazepam privately. Can't remember how much it was, but not extortionate.
