Positive FIT Test / Health Anxiety
Discussion
Wondering if anyone has had any experience of a positive qfit test? I’m guessing I’ll be getting a colonoscopy for the first time.
I’m currently under surveillance for testicular cancer, 2.5 years out from diagnosis and all good on that front.
I had some blood tests as part of my regular check up which shower very slightly low levels of red blood cells. Being someone very prone to health anxiety I googled the results, despite the consultants having reviewed them, and bowel cancer came up a lot.
This prompted much anxiety and a call to my GP, who reiterated the consultants lack of concern at the blood test results and offered a qfit as reassurance. This came back at 18 which as I understand it is low but still considered abnormal.
I’m now awaiting an appointment having been referred and am extremely anxious.
I had an abdominal mri in May this year which showed no disease and even stated the ‘bowel was within normal limits’.
