Been looking online for a pair as above.
Seem to be £50 plus for a set. Seems a bit extortionate.

Can anyone recommend a slightly cheaper place to get a pair?

The coloured neoprene style preferred but anything really.

Sounds like you want fixed DBs so no wonder they're expensive. Go for those free weight plates for DBs you can build with twist locks.

Argos are £60 for a pair, decathlon currently have an offer on at £59

or just wait until some turn up on gumtree etc

What are you planning on using 10kg dumbbells for? They’re so light you’ll almost immediately need more weight. The only thing that weight is good for is rear deltoid stuff.

Get some bare dumbbell handles and some Olympic plates instead so you can easily adjust the weight is my advice. More money but then will be of some use.

That's a good point. I can only see them being useful when just starting out if you're using them for usual weight training. The OPer has asked for a pair which probably means they would be using them for such training?

That said, they are useful for cardio and functional fitness work. I do like to throw around my 8kg fixed DB. The DB handle versions end up with the screw lock coming loose when used for cardio work (I know you said Oly which have proper locks but they're a lot more expensive than ones with the screw lock).

I'm on the look out for one 12kg fixed DB for AMRAP stuff - I mainly use my 8kg for AMRAP training when it's raining and a club tennis session is cancelled. I do have a KB but it's awkward for what I want to do. smile
