Hey all,

Having problems with my nose, at the Drs last week and prioritised for ENT ASAP. With that, provided antibiotics and to come back within a week. The mention of a biopsy and not ruling out the C world didn’t phase me, until the last 48 hours.

I’m back at the Drs tomorrow, the antibiotics haven’t done anything. My mind is all over the place.

It could be something like a cyst?

When things are undiagnosed (pun not intended) it's extremely worrying - but hopefully it's something benign.

Easier said that done but... try not to think about it. Practice mindfulness. Treat yourself to something fun.

It's all in hand so leave it to the pros, make sure the appointments are all set and, if necessary, chase up if you're expecting some kind of referral or scan and have yet to hear from one of the departments.

If you are good at avoiding the ruminating thing, then by all means hit Dr Google and prepare yourself for different outcomes. Otherwise, avoid Dr Google at all costs.

Good luck!

Thanks all, works been really busy and has me travelling which has taken my mind off it (until the flight home tonight).

Dr Google is being kind to me thankfully but trying to be prepared (as much as possible) for anything different.

Taking Friday off to set-up the new treadmill and give the car its first clean in months.

I have a sister who regularly gets nasal polyps. She has just had the last lot surgically removed.

Well, it's not great (because of the implications) but I guess it at least means they have a broad plan to get you sorted out. Good luck.

Maybe they are just polyps as above. Fingers crossed. smile

Fingers crossed for you.

To be honest, my sister's GP always uses the "C" word so as to get her on the fast track pathway. So far it has always been negative.

Good luck. I was on the 2 week cancer pathway earlier this year, 4 or 5 different tests. No cancer.

Whilst it wasn't 2 weeks, it was all pretty quick and efficient. The only thing I could moan about is that they were a bit slow to tell me that I didn't have cancer. In the end I hassled my GP and he told me the good news, even though it should have been the hospital telling me.

Thanks all! Greatly appreciated.

Strange question, should I let my manager know what’s happening? I travel regularly for work and usually have a few days a week full of meetings with partners.

Not a strange question.

It very much depends on the sort of company culture you have - some companies will make quiet plans to replace you (assuming you're going to be taking a lot of time off) and others will support you ensuring they play a part in helping you to get through this.

Hey all,

Got my referral for this Friday, suspected cancer head and neck - ENT triage.

Fingers crossed it’s nothing, minds going into overdrive now.

That’s a nice quick referral. Hopefully the diagnosis and any treatment is equally prompt.

Hey all,

Specialist suspects it’s benign but booked in for an operation in a couple of weeks and pre-op next week!

Funnily enough I was thinking about your OP earlier today and wondering whether you’d provided an update. When I noticed you hadn’t I feared the worst, so I’m chuffed that it’s benign and sortable. biggrinthumbup

Looks like good news for you OP.

The last few weeks must have been horrendous for you.

Hope you manage to get it sorted.

Thanks all, it’s been a huge relief after the hospital I just crashed. We still have to wait for the biopsy and results but I’m not worried at all.
