On my left hand sometime ago few knuckle pads appeared. There were 3 on the outmost knuckle of 3 fingers that were about 4-5mm in diameter, and then on the middle finger in the middle knuckle there is a large one, about 1-1.2cm in diameter.

They arent painful, just unsightly, and a couple of people have mentioned them which I hate. Know I shouldnt care but no one likes odds things on their body being pointed out.

I consulted Dr Google and it seemed options were limited. I read a medical paper from the states about a case where they had been successfully treated with high strength keratolytics.

I ordered some high strength salicylic acid and urea cream. Have been putting it on daily for months and months. It was pretty much worked on the smaller ones, two have all but gone, one remains but is significantly smaller.

The larger one though, just doesnt seem to be reducing. Every few days the skins has swollen and it can be cut away, but its just never seems to get any smaller.

Surgery is sometimes a solution but doesnt always work, I assume as well that given its only cosmetic the NHS wont do that any way.

Anyone else had similar or got any suggestions?

Order some salicylic soap, give the area a good scrub regularly. Make sure you get the stuff that's like sandpaper.
